And let’s not forget the loaded dreidel from last year.

My print ad for living in Sumeria.

French Project from the beginning of the year.

Recreated from the school website that’s blocked.
Heart’s video, but she goes so fast that It is hard to follow the instructions on how to make one, If there even is instructions. So I decided to figure it out.
Ali’s version
It’s Chanukah and we play dreidel, a game of luck. There are four sides to a dreidel. Each side has a Hebrew letter. You spin, and if you land on Gimel, you take all the money. If you land on Shin, you add money to the pot. If you land on Hay, you take half of the money in the pot, and on Nun, nothing happens. To start, all the players put a penny in the pot, and each player takes a turn spinning. We have six dreidels, and you can pick your favorite to spin.
I made a video to figure out the probability of it landing on Gimel X times in a row. It landed on Gimel seven times and then on Hay (I was really lucky). I wondered what the probability of landing on one Gimel would be. I made a probability chart for landing on one Gimel. The probability of landing on one Gimel is 1/4; but then what is the probability of landing on 7 Gimels in a row? I figured that since for one Gimel the probability was 1/4, the probibility for two Gimels would be 1/4 times 1/4, and for 7 Gimels it woud be 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 or (1/4)7. That equals about 0.00006. I think there is something up with this dreidel! Or I’m just really good at spinning dreidels.

Didn’t want to throw this out.
1. Crystal has 24 pokeballs. Gold has 8 baskets, and gives 6 to Silver. Crystal wants to divide her remaining pokeballs so there is an even amount of pokeballs in Gold’s remaining basket(s). How many are in each basket?
2. I had a sleepover with 11 friends. I had 48 Pokemon cards. I divided them evenly among my friends and me. Yellow brought 5 of her own Pokemon cards. How many cards does Yellow have?
3. Ruby has 4 medals. Sapphire has 5 times as many medals as Ruby. Blue had 2 medals and won 8 today. Sapphire puts her medals into as many groups as Blue has medals. How many are in each group?
4. The Fluffys order pizza for Megan’s birthday. The chef cut the pizza in 8th. Megan is a vegetarian so they order 1 meat pizza and one vegetarian pizza. Casy eats 1 slice of the vegetarian pizza. Bobby eats 1 slice of each pizza. Megan eats 2 slices of the vegetarian pizza, and Ferrie eats 3 pieces of meat Pizza. What percentage of pizza is left in the meat pizza and vegetarian pizzas?
Stop Sexism
By Ally G
Does sexism still exist? The answer is yes. I know Title IX was passed and many more laws. But that won’t stop people from being sexist in other ways. In some cases, a women at the same job as a man will not get paid the same amount of money. Or even in my school, during outdoor recess a boy will say to a girl, “Give me the ball. Are you sure you can throw it?” Sometimes I think this is totally random, but most of the time it only has to do with how they were raised. This essay will prove to you the true unfairness of sexism.
Lemonade Test
Research has been done to prove males and females are being treated differently. Campbell Leaper of the University of California asked a boy named Aaron to taste very salty lemonade, and asked him what it tasted like. Aaron said,”Eech!” Then they asked a girl named Raja. She said, “It needs some sugar.” Raja’s answer was way more polite than Aaron’s. The boys’ reacted just as Leaper predicted they would, because, he said, “Boys are allowed to talk back to their parents more than girls are.” Courteously, Morgan said, “It’s good.” The girls politely drank, even a girl who looked as if she was choking it down. Only when he pushed them, did they tell the truth. He asked one girl why she didn’t tell him the lemonade tasted bad. She said, “I didn’t want to be rude to you.” “I just didn’t want to make anyone feel bad that they made this so sour,” Asha told them. Most boys didn’t worry about that. Susan Witt, who teaches childhood development at the University of Akron, says boys and girls respond differently in situations like these because parents parent them differently. Why are girls and boys parented differently? I don’t know. But why should they in the first place?
Women often get ignored at meetings
Normally, when there are only one or two women around the table at a meeting, their voices are easily unheard. It’s very common that others may interrupt them, finish their sentences, or not give them the focus they need to continue. More frustrating is when a woman offers her idea, and no one responds. Then, a few minutes later, a man in the room has the same idea, and only then is it heard and received well. When Beth Brooke, global vice chair at Ernst & Young, experienced this at a meeting, she pulled the leader aside to mention it, and he hadn’t even noticed that it happened.
Unfair Résumé
I like this story because of its simplicity. A résumé was headed with a male name (“John”), and another résumé was headed with a female name (“Jennifer”). Both male and female faculty rated John as significantly more competent, offered John more money, and rated John more worthy of faculty mentoring. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS THE NAME!
My own Sightings
I asked Cait: “Why do you and your twin brother act differently?” Cait said, “Because I’m a girl and he’s a boy.” Are girls and boys supposed to act a certain way? I think they aren’t. Sexism is bad for your mind and it makes you believe that one sex is more powerful than the other. A vocabulary word of my own from social studies, prejudice, is what people are doing to girls and boys in the U.S.A. We as human beings can figure out what’s wrong and right and gain equality to all genders.
Conclusion
Sexism is mean and rude; no one realizes it though because they were raised to think it is normal. Nothing can stop sexism but you. Start to realize the things around you such as, thinking boys are better at sports, and girls are better at reading, that’s only a slight difference but it gets bigger. Stop sexism now and make a change in the world!

Think of sexism like racism, but instead of treating you differently because of your race, someone treats you differently because of your sex. Sexism is bad for your mind and it makes you believe that one sex is more powerful than the other.
